F.M.'s Notes: Lucifer Season 2 Episode 13 "A Good Day To Die"
At the start of the recap Chloe looks to Lucifer with a bloody nose and says that “it won’t stop.” Reminding us of the urgency the last episode left us with. The episode then starts with Lucifer racing down the street and a melancholy Chloe stating that “it stopped.” Well, that was a half a second of suspense. What did they think? That it would be inconvenient to have one of the main protagonist’s nose bleed the entire episode;)
I also don’t buy Chloe wanting to keep the fact that she was infected a secret. At the very least she would tell Dan! They have a child together. It doesn’t make sense in the story except “convenient timing” so that you don’t have the whole crew on high alert the whole episode and you can stage the reactions progressively. Although, from a writing standpoint, it makes it easier to set up the Acts, it doesn’t make sense rationally for the viewer to have an unnecessary secret.
Does Doctor Linda need to say “clear” when she’s trying to bring Lucifer back to life… it’s just her and Maze in the room right;)
I was unclear if Lucifer’s mother was team Chloe. She wants them together, she doesn’t. I really disliked her flip-flopping until she finally grieved the death of her son in hell and took responsibility for her part in everything. Then at the end of the episode when she said that she was sorry and loved Lucifer, I believed it. And somehow that made his reaction, wanting to run away from Chloe and rebuke her after they bonded in Hell… not believable.

F.M.'s Notes: Supernatural Season 12 Episode 9 "First Blood"
The boys start out in Solitary confinement for being very naughty and the “warden” says that Dean won’t get a phone call, but I’m like… bitch, his blood is his phone call! Then when he found the sharp screw I was waiting for it… but instead he just started ticking the days away in his cell. What? Where’s that get up and go Dean muster? And how was he counting the days in confinement, the meal plan?
I liked the British men of letter’s pitch to the hunter: money, weapons, aid, anything you desire. I was nodding my head thinking, yeah, why say no! Then he repeated that terrible line in Labyrinth… “just fear me, love me, do as I say…” Ah, the British dude lost the hunter like Jared lost Sarah. It’s that “do as I say,” part that breaks the fish from the hook guys;)
Also, couldn’t one of the Winchester connections pull them out? What happened to Cas’s powers? Has he stopped being an angel? Wasn’t he fully restored after Lucifer jumped ship from his body last season? Are we missing something guys? LOL at Crowley’s remark that the brothers are like herpes though;P Just can’t get rid of them!
I thought it was weird that Cas and their mother, Mary Winchester, were just diddling their fingers as the weeks passed. They didn’t desperately exploit their connections, call a crossroads demon, an angel hook up… anything?! Mary, these are your sons! You don’t know if they’re being beaten, tortured, or if they’ve already been taken out back and shot! Where’s the urgency? If Dean was on the outside and one of them was captured he’d already be making a deal. And I’m sure he’s the one that made the deal with the reaper with full intention of being the “one Winchester” that gave up his life.
And Cas ran away from a pithy vampire case? Is this the same Cas with the kick ass fortitude that gave Dean the you-can’t-run-away-from-your-destiny face in seasons past? The same Cas who called Lucifer ass-butt and was splatted into oblivion? The same Cas the swallowed souls and brought around the Leviathan? They’re doing a really good job of watering down his character, which I don’t like because there’s so much potential still unexplored in the protagonist Castiel. I think the problem is that they don’t know what to do with an all-powerful angel, so they are trying to inhibit him in any way possible. I think they should go towards his power (this is where most writers shy away from because they fear their story will collapse, but it’s not true!). Embrace the fact that he is powerful and see where it takes you. When they’ve done that before with the Leviathan or what have you, they have these huge arcs with dynamic character turnarounds… he was even Steve for a while. You can have fun with it and let him be Cas but the minute you try and turn him into someone else without any viable reason, it’s not believable or likeable to the audience.
The Cabin was convenient. It had matches, a lamp, a knife, bear traps… I was like, what else guys: salt and shot guns?
It was fun that Sam told the agent the truth: the president was possessed by the devil, and that’s the truth! That doesn’t make you sound coo coo for coco puffs Sam. Which tickled my funny bone:)
I liked that they didn’t get rid of the mom. I thought when they had that loophole about “any” Winchester they were just going to throw away her character because they don’t know what to do with her. There is so much potential for deep emotional turnarounds with her and the main protagonists (the boys mainly) that they haven’t explored yet. Because one of the main themes to the Supernatural series is family, I think introducing Mary into the world has such limitless potential for exploration, and really to solidify the weakened bonds between our exhausted heroes. Don’t throw her away before you use her writers!
I was glad Cas killed the reaper, but I did want to hear her sing that “oh death” song one more time. Or anything really, she had such a lovely voice they didn’t use again. On that note, I miss Death. He was such a great character:) Bring back Death, lol!

F.M.'s Notes: The Magicians Season 2 Episode 1
The “gingerbread” witch that Quentin gives a vial of his blood to, but doesn’t need anymore because Alice still has some cum power from last season, is dismissed? What? You made a fair trade in Fillory for her magic, get a spell out of the deal Quentin or ask to borrow her brush, something! He only asks for the vial of blood back… what is he going to do with a vial of his own blood? Store it at room temperature?
When they are at the “well of all magic” and they abandon it because they don’t want to “break Fillory” I think that’s not believable. This is their one shot, the beast isn’t in his secret lair because Julia has him at knife point-ish. This is their chance and they’re just going to leave and go look for some armor or something else to help them… really?
I did like Margo’s line that went something like… “who kills off all of their main characters in season one … “ and “maybe we’re just comedy relief!” What a great shout out to writers and viewers alike! Reminiscent of Guy from Galaxy Quest;)
Also the Beast’s line “drop me off at the playground, I like to watch the children play,” was extra creepy:(
I did like the flower bridge… I’d like a flower bridge that leads to my house. How do I get one of those? Although knowing The Magicians it probably costs the lives of thirty virgins or something;P
